This past Saturday, July 20th, I attended the first ever ARTCRANK show in Boston, a one day event at the Fourth Wall Project near Fenway. ARTCRANK is a show of bicycle-inspired poster artwork that introduces people to talented local artists and sends them home with affordable, original works of art. Since their 2007 debut in Minneapolis, they have held shows in many bike enthusiast cities like Portland, San Francisco, New York, Austin, Los Angeles and London. This year, they will visit 14 cities in three countries, including this show in Boston. Here is a link to this event and information - ARTCRANK - Boston. Proceeds from the event will help fund LivableStreets, a non-profit organization working to improve biking, walking, and transit — creating safe streets and vibrant communities to make the Boston region a better place to live, work, and play.
Being a Boston cyclist, I thought this was great idea to bring awareness to the use of bikes in Boston. I hope this event continues in Boston next year, and I hope to be able to contribute to it as well. I recommend checking out the event if you're in any of the other cities hosting upcoming shows.
